Top Ten SF Books I Would Recommend to a Friend

I promised I would create my own Top Ten list after I was bemoaning the fact that I didn’t agree with any of the ones I was seeing. (That’ll teach ME)

After trying to put this together, I now understand that it is an impossible task. I’m fairly certain if I did this again tomorrow the list would change. 🙂

Top Ten SF Books I Would Recommend to a Friend

In no order whatsoever:

Stranger in a Strange Land by Robert Heinlein

I Will Fear No Evil by Robert Heinlein

Dream Park by Larry Niven and Steven Barnes

Jurassic Park by Michael Chrichton

Foundation by Isaac Asimov

A Mote in God’s Eye by Larry Niven and Jerry Pournelle

A Princess of Mars by Edgar Rice Burroughs

On Basilisk Station by David Weber

The Ship Who Sang by Anne McCaffrey

Shards of Honor/Barrayar by Lois McMaster Bujold

I would have included Anne McCaffrey’s Pern but I didn’t want to get into the” is it really SF” debate so I put a different McCaffrey book in the list instead.

If I was in a humorous state of mind while compiling the list it would look entirely different.

Let the debate begin!

What would you include?
