Still a really hard question for me, since reading a good book makes me happy.
I’m going to pull a Kobayashi Maru and say that a book makes me sad when a good idea is poorly written and executed.

Day 5: A book that makes you happy
This was a really hard question for me. Reading a good book makes me happy. Picking out a single book that makes me happy was difficult. And I didn’t quite make it, I picked a trilogy. But I own it in one volume, so it counts, right?
Anne McCaffrey’s Harper Hall Trilogy is one of those books I go to when I need an old friend, and it always makes me smile.

Day 4: Favorite book of your favorite series
Cordelia’s Honor Duology. I’ve read them together so many times they are not separate in my mind.
*SPOILER ALERT*
The scene where Cordelia rolls Vordarian’s head across the conference table and tells them all to end the war now is cemented in my mind as one of the all-time great scenes in a book.
