Shifter’s Wolf : Patricia Briggs
Review of Shifter’s Wolf by Patricia Briggs
BEWARE! This is a compilation of two previous books by the author. If you have already read Masques and Wolfsbane, do not buy this book.
Also, this is NOT part of the Mercy Thompson or the Alpha and Omega series.
It is, however, a very good book to purchase if you have not already read the previous books.
Masques is Patricia Briggs’ very first novel, originally published in 1993. As she states in the introduction, she has gotten much better at writing since then! But happily she decided to brush up the original only slightly and as a result we get to enjoy the ups and downs of a first novel, and to see just how much she has improved over the years. Masques is a fun book, and well worth the time to read. The sequel, Wolfsbane, was published in 2010, and the writing style is more what current Patricia Briggs’ readers have come to expect.
The story is involved and entertaining, the characters are memorable, and reading them is time well spent.
I give it 4 stars.
