Review of The Tears of Elios by Crista McHugh

The Tears of Elios is the first Crista McHugh book I have read, but it won’t be the last.

The world building and depth of myth and history in the novel are quite extensive, even if they are only revealed to the reader slowly. The book holds its own as an intriguing fantasy story while balancing two separate romances which are integral to the plot. The primary characters are all well-developed with quirks and faults and histories, and are people we end up caring about.

The book is the first of a trilogy but is also an entertaining stand-alone novel.

I look forward to reading the next installment!

I give it 4 stars.
