The Drastic Dragon of Draco, Texas
Review of The Drastic Dragon of Draco, Texas by Elizabeth Scarborough
Combining westerns and dragons had never crossed my mind, but when I saw the premise, I was immediately hooked.
The main character is an intelligent woman from San Francisco, or in Old West parlance, a spunky gal with lots of gumption.
Her aspiration is to write dime novels so she embarks on a journey across the southwest to discover locales and find character ideas. Along the way she encounters mule trains, wild Indians, comancheros, cavalry officers, grifters, a camel and, of course, a dragon.
The story moves along at a brisk pace, skillfully introducing colorful characters and plot twists which keep you turning the pages long into the night.
A thoroughly entertaining read. If you like fantasy, westerns, dragons, or just enjoy a good tale, you will enjoy this book.
I give it 4 stars.
